It gives us great pleasure to return to Sidmouth, a frequent winner of the title ĎBritainís Floral Towní; itís quiet, unhurried and unspoilt. This picturesque resort is situated on the glorious south Devon coast, set between deep red cliffs on the edge of Devonís heathery uplands; the town boasts a pleasant, well-kept atmosphere.
The 3 star, family run Royal York and Faulkner is a firm favourite with our clients. It is ideally situated on the centre of the esplanade overlooking the sea and adjacent to the shopping centre. The well-appointed bedrooms are all en-suite and include tea/coffee making facilities and all are served by a lift.
Monday Our door to door service takes you from your home to the waiting Club Class coach for the journey to the South West. We spend time in the famous maritime city of Bristol then on to Sidmouth arriving at our holiday hotel late afternoon.
Tuesday A delightful drive through the Otter Valley to Budleigh Salterton, a charming resort overlooked by high cliffs known as the Floors. Then on to Exmouth, Devonís oldest seaside resort and one of great naval and historic importance where we include a cruise on the River Exe.
WednesdayWe visit the county town of Dorchester. Today is Market day when the town is transformed by a huge bustling market, part covered and including local farmers fayre, bric-abrac and fresh seafood. Our return is by way of the Hardy Monument for impressive views and the Chesil Beach coastal road.
Thursday Today we visit lovely Bicton Park Botanical Gardens - 60 acres of gardens with elegant water features, a magnificent 19th century Palm House and famed Autumn tints. We include a ride on the oldest and only surviving 18Ē gauge railway in Britain! After a good stay we return to the hotel mid afternoon
Friday Our homeward journey includes glorious Somerset scenery, retracing our outward journey before returning to our home area late afternoon.
