Friday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to the beautiful Cotswolds. We travel via pretty Broadway and historic Winchcombe before climbing steep Cleeve Hill. A stop in elegant Cheltenham allows time for lunch then on to the hotel arriving late afternoon. This evening join your fellow travellers for pre dinner drinks and canapes before dinner is served.
Saturday A full day excursion to the architectural gem that is Bath. The beautiful Georgian city is brimming with things to see and do. Designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site, Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in Europe such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge alongside a diverse collection of museums and attractions including the Roman Baths and thermal bath spa. Bath's compact centre offers irresistible shopping. We include tickets for the open top bus tour of the many landmarks.
Sunday A morning drive south to Marlborough an archetypical English market town with its famous College, then through the world famous Stone Circle of Avebury dating back over 2000 years. We visit Wootton Bassett recently elevated to Royal status before a mid afternoon return to the hotel for tea & biscuits.
Monday Another hearty breakfast before we bid a fond farewell to our hosts and depart for home. We spend time in nearby Swindon at the beautifully restored Grade II railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway works which today houses a massive modern shopping outlet offering huge discounts, lots of cafes and a wonderful Steam Museum of the Great Western Railway, where visitors of all ages get to climb aboard famous locomotives, have a go at changing the signals, and be an engine driver. Late afternoon we return to our home area and waiting taxis at the end of a stylish relaxing weekend.
