For 2017 we see in the New Year amid the splendour of the Snowdonia National Park, one of Britainís great national treasures. We include scenic tours and visits to beautiful Anglesey and Portmeirion. Our base is historic Caernarfon overlooking the Menai Straits and dominated by its magnificent castle.

Celtic Royal Hotel - 3 Star

This stylish hotel is located in the famous town of Caernarfon, near Bangor in Gwynedd, a popular hotel with Fenn Holidaysí clients. The Celtic Royal has a modern, stylish bar and also a leisure club with gym and a swimming pool. All bedrooms are tastefully designed and include hairdryer and tea/ coffee making facilities. A full entertainment is included during our stay. This hotel is served by a lift.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Saturday From your front door to the waiting coach for the drive to Snowdonia. Our route takes us to Shrewsbury for a lunch stop then on to the beautiful Vale of Llangollen and over the scenic Horseshoe Pass to Ruthin, we view the Marble Church on the coast road to Colwyn before arriving at our hotel late afternoon. This evening there will be a punch reception before dinner which will be followed by entertainment.

Day 2

Sunday After a full Celtic breakfast, we travel south of Caernarfon to Portmeirion. This unique village is set on its own private peninsula on the southern shores of Snowdonia. It was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis to demonstrate how a naturally beautiful place could be developed without spoiling it. Portmeirion is made up of about 50 buildings most of which are used as hotel or self-catering accommodation and surrounded by 70 acres of sub-tropical woodland gardens. After plenty of time to explore we return to the hotel with time before preparing for this eveningís Gala dinner which will be followed by entertainment.

Day 3

Monday Happy New Year! An easy start to the day with time to explore Caernarfon. The town has a charming centre and rich history most of which features the massive castle that dominates all. Events here include the investiture of the present Prince of Wales. Later we cross the Menai Straits, viewing Thomas Telfordís magnificent bridge, to visit the most famous town in Wales, Llanfair PG. Our last visit is to pretty Beaumaris famed for the romantic ruins of its castle. We return to the hotel in time for tea and biscuits to be served, later dinner will be followed by more live entertainment.

Day 4

Tuesday Today we say goodbye to our hosts after breakfast and begin our return journey, via Cheshire and the Midlands, before arriving in our home area late afternoon.
