Overview

After the success of the recent TV serial, Poldark, the county of Cornwall, setting for the programme, has seen a large increase in visitors. Our Springtime visit based in Newquay, offers beautiful scenery and some of the locations used in the filming plus an ‘All Inclusive‘ package. We include entrances to the fabulous Eden Project and the National Maritime Museum.

Esplanade Hotel - 3 Star

Situated in a quiet location, this hotel offers superb coastal views over Fistral beach. Each of the en-suite bedrooms is equipped with a television, hairdryer and hospitality tray, while the spacious lounge, bar and restaurant all offer wonderful views. Comprehensive leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool. The hotel is served by lift. Our stay includes nightly entertainment and a free bar each evening.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting coach to join the motorway to Cornwall for a late afternoon arrival in Newquay. A cream tea is served on our arrival, then time to settle in before this evening’s dinner with entertainment to follow. Don’t forget, a free bar on selected brands is available from 6 – 9pm each evening.


Day 2

Tuesday We make a visit to Charlestown a picturesque harbour complete with tall ships where many of the scenes from the drama series Poldark were filmed. We then travel to the incredible Eden Project, a global garden spread over 25 acres, all under the cover of two enormous domes, the largest of their type in the world. We return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner which will be followed by live entertainment.


Day 3

Wednesday Today we visit the historic fishing town of Falmouth with its picturesque narrow streets and a fascinating harbour. Visit the multi award winning National Maritime Museum which has 15 galleries beautifully illustrating the past, present and future of this island nation. Ascend the 100ft Look Out tower and see Falmouth’s famous harbour from the skies. Dinner this evening is followed by entertainment.


Day 4

Thursday A morning visit to Padstow, a busy fishing port but today best known as the home of TV chef and restauranteur Rick Stein. The Padstow area was used for some of the shoreline shots. We return to the hotel for a one course hot buffet lunch. A relaxing afternoon with a game of Bonanza at the hotel along with tea and cake. Our final evening’s dinner is followed by more live entertainment.


Day 5

Friday We depart Newquay after a leisurely breakfast for the journey home. Using the motorways we arrive in our home area late afternoon.
