Overview

A firm favourite with our clients; Torquay in Devon, the heart of the English Riviera, is a popular, stylish resort with a strong Continental atmosphere. It is situated at the heart of 22 miles of unspoilt coastline and enjoys a mild climate. By popular demand, we have returned to the Livermead Cliff Hotel, in our opinion, one of the best hotels in Torquay with simply wonderful views over the sweeping bay.

Your Accommodation:

Livermead Cliff Hotel - 3 Star

The superb Livermead Cliff enjoys and unrivalled position at the water’s edge with direct private access to the sea and has established itself as one of our favourite hotels. All the comfortable bedrooms are ensuite bedrooms and well equipped including tea/coffee making facilities and a lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Thursday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the cross country drive to the English Riviera, to arrive at our hotel with time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Friday After a leisurely full English breakfast we travel up the coast to Powderham Castle. Powderham Castle is located in a unique, picturesque setting just outside Exeter, beside the Exe estuary. Six hundred years of history are contained within the walls of one of England's oldest family homes. Sir Philip Courtenay began building it in 1391 and it has remained in the same family to this day, currently home to the 18th Earl and Countess of Devon. After a good stay we continue on to Exeter. This delightful place has a rich history and has lots to see including the Cathedral, Maritime Museum and fabulous shopping centre. We return to Torquay and our hotel with time before dinner.

Day 3

Saturday After breakfast we travel to Tiverton for our included horse drawn cruise on the Grand Western Canal. Being one of the last remaining horse drawn barges in the UK, this trip on the ‘Tivertonian’ offers a truly unique and memorable experience of yesteryear. We return to Torquay for an afternoon at leisure.

Day 4

Sunday This morning we enjoy breakfast before travelling to Paignton for our Steam train journey to Kingswear, then cross the River Dart on a foot passenger ferry to Dartmouth where we board a boat for a circular River Cruise, taking around 1 hour. There will be some free time afterwards in Dartmouth before we return to Torquay for dinner.

Day 5

MondayWe return to our home area after a relaxing break on the English Riviera.
