Owing to the huge popularity of our tours, it gives us pleasure to once again offer this unique holiday to the Scilly Isles, known as the ‘Fortune Isles' or the Flower Islands. The Islands are said to have only two seasons Spring and Summer and spring flowers are often picked throughout the year! Beaches of fine sands are washed by the waters of the Gulf Stream. Throughout the year the landscape is lush and green with sub tropical plants and superb displays of flowers. There are about 150 islands but only 5 are inhabited and all have a fascinating collection of fauna and flora and are of particular interest to bird lovers where large colonies of sea birds, white dolphins and seals swim in the clear blue waters. All of the smaller islands have their own distinct flavour which brings back visitors year after year to these “Enchanted Isles”.
The 3 star St Marys Hall is an elegant, extensively refurbished townhouse surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean gardens situated in Hugh Town and only a 3 minute walk to the town centre and beaches, the hotel offers contemporary style and comfort in a traditional setting. All the en-suite bedrooms have a flat screen TV, with tea/coffee making facilities, and a hairdryer. There is a modern restaurant with fine food and a spacious bar with ample seating area. The hotel does not have a lift.
Monday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the cross country drive to the South West. We travel by motorway to arrive at our overnight hotel in Cornwall late afternoon.
Tuesday A leisurely breakfast before driving to Lands’ End where we will meet our skybus for the flight over to St. Mary’s. This is a lovely short hop over the Cornish Coast and Islands. We arrive at the St Marys Hotel where we have time to settle in before dinner.
Wednesday to Friday During our stay we will have a tour on the main and largest Island, St. Mary’s, with its stunning coast and fascinating inland areas including ‘Holy Vale’. The day on St Mary’s usually features a guided tour of the Old Town and Peninnis Head.
Saturday Sadly it is time to leave the tranquillity of the island and return to the mainland on the afternoon flight back to Lands End. We then head for our home areas arriving this evening to be greeted by our awaiting taxis.
