Your Accommodation:

Millennium Copthorne Hotel - 4 Star

The 4 star Copthorne Hotel, a Fenn Holiday favourite, stands in one of the finest locations in Newcastle, on the banks of the River Tyne and is just a short stroll from the city centre. All of the bedrooms face the river and are all en-suite with a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

From your front door to the waiting club class coach for the drive to Newcastle where we arrive at the 4 star Millennium Copthorne Hotel mid-afternoon. We are greeted by a welcoming cup of tea or coffee before enjoying time to settle in before dinner which includes a glass of wine.

Day 2

We have a leisurely morning in Newcastle with a chance to explore the quayside. Later we join the ‘Toon Tour’ for a scenic drive around Newcastle with commentary on local history, attractions and points of interest returning to the hotel late afternoon.

Day 3

Today we take the road north, past Blyth and Ashington, through Amble and Warkworth to historic Alnwick. Here you can obtain lunch and wander the Historic town, just a stone’s throw from Alnwick Castle & Gardens. We then travel to Morpeth where you can visit its famous weekly market and explore the historic market town before we return to our hotel late afternoon.

Day 4

This morning we head for the coast and South Shields, home of the late Catherine Cookson before continuing past Marsden Bay, Whitburn and Seaburn. Here we head inland and drive across to the ancient and historic city of Durham, much acclaimed as a World Heritage Site and dominated by the magnificent Norman Cathedral and Castle, high above the River Wear. We return to the hotel for a Cream Tea, followed by time to wind down before our final night. You will also enjoy a glass of house wine with dinner this evening.

Day 5

After breakfast we make us of the motorways to arrive home late afternoon after an unforgettable break in Northumbria.
