Join for a stay in the ever popular town of Falmouth – Cornwall’s leading south coast resort and known as the Jewel of the Cornish Riviera. A busy and charming port for over 400 years, today Falmouth is a bustling town with many attractions including the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle. Its year-round mild climate allows the sub-tropical gardens to flourish and it boasts one of the highest average sunshine records in Britain.
The 3 star Falmouth Hotel is the towns first ever hotel. Built in 1865, it boasts outstanding Victorian architecture and is perfectly located, overlooking Castle Beach. The striking Victorian chateau style property is set in 5 acres of perfectly landscaped gardens with views over Falmouth Bay. Each of the tastefully decorated ensuite bedrooms is equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, radio, TV, telephone and a hairdryer. There’s an indoor pool & spa, the elegant Castle Beach restaurant and a spacious bar and lounge with beautiful views across the bay. The hotel is served by a lift.
Travelling by way of Oxford and the Vale of the White Horse then using the motorway we journey to the West Country arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
A day at leisure to explore the delights of Falmouth or simply relax at our lovely hotel. Stroll along the cobbled streets, visit the charming mix of shops from specialist outlets to well known high street names which sit alongside colourful art galleries. We meet again for dinner this evening.
Today we enjoy a full day tour, travelling via Marazion for some fine views of St Michael's Mount before arriving in Penzance with its long, flat sweeping promenade. On then to pretty St Ives – one of the most quaint and attractive towns in Cornwall with its golden, sandy beach, narrow cobbled streets and pretty granite cottages. We return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Today we visit the charming city of Truro with its flowing river, picturesque streets with 18th and 19th century town houses and its magnificent Cathedral which dominates the city. Our next visit is to Trebah Gardens, a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop. Here we find a colourful array of 100 year old Rhododendrons, Magnolias, Camellias, giant Gunnera and Hydrangea’s. A real feast for the eyes and noses!
We return after a memorable holiday in beautiful Cornwall arriving home late afternoon.
