Thursday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for our journey towards Bristol. We pass through the Cotswolds making a lunch stop in picturesque Bourton-On-The- Water, reaching our 4 star hotel mid-afternoon where we have time to settle in before dinner.
Friday A full English breakfast before we head into Bristol. We include a visit to Brunel’s SS Great Britain, where we will learn the full story of Captain Gray, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the journey. There is so much to discover; her conservation, history and experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on board for Victorian passengers and crew. There will be free time in the city that was once the most important seaport on the west coast. We return to our hotel via the distinctive Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Saturday This morning we make our way to the lovely village of Toddington, where we board the train for our included journey through Laverton, Winchcombe and Gotherington to Cheltenham Race Course. Here we meet our coach and continue to the cathedral city of the Cotswolds, Gloucester for free time before returning to the hotel.
Sunday After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the beautiful city of Bath for a day at leisure. Built for pleasure and relaxation, Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The World Heritage Site is famous for its naturally hot spa water, original Roman style baths and the glorious Georgian Crescent. With many shops, restaurants and pubs to keep you busy. We return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner.
MondayWe bid farewell to our hosts at the Aztec Hotel before heading to the Bowood Estate, home of the Marquis of Lansdowne. Here we have time to explore the house and gardens which sit in the centre of Capability Brown’s great parkland and over half the house, which was purchased in 1754, is open to the public. We arrive in our home areas late afternoon to be greeted by our awaiting taxis.
