We return to the much loved county of Yorkshire. Stretching from Spurn Point to Saltburn-by-the-Sea, this unique stretch of coastline boasts a string of gorgeous towns and fishing villages. Included is a scenic guided tour of York and, of course, the famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway!

A warm welcome awaits you at The Queen’s Hotel, which is situated on the banks of the River Ouse, in the heart of the City of York. All 78 rooms are tastefully decorated with a telephone, free Wi-Fi, en suite bathrooms with complimentary toiletries, a refreshments trays and a TV. The hotel’s lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Thursday From your front door to the Club Class coach for the drive north to York. We arrive at the Queens Hotel this afternoon with time before dinner.

Day 2

Friday Today is ‘York in a nutshell’, after breakfast we are joined by our guide for a comprehensive morning sightseeing tour of York. This afternoon we enjoy a cruise on the River Ouse with ‘Yorkboat’, we then have free time in York before returning to the hotel for this evening’s dinner.

Day 3

Saturday This morning we leave for a spectacular scenic tour to Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Our first stop is Pickering where we join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a ride across the moors as we make our way to the historic seaport of Whitby, with its ruined Abbey atop the cliff overlooking the busy harbour. We have time for lunch here and to explore the town before returning across Blakey Ridge, offering some of the most spectacular views of the area. From Hutton-le- Hole we continue to Helmsley for a short break before returning to the hotel.

Day 4

Sunday After breakfast we have the morning free for further exploration of the city. Why not visit the Jorvik Centre, The National Railway Museum or walk the City Walls, the list is endless. No visit to York is complete without seeing the magnificent Minster and the surrounding narrow streets and little alleyways, including the famous Shambles. This afternoon we visit Castle Howard, best known for its starring role in ‘Brideshead Revisited’. We have time to explore the house and grounds before heading back to the hotel for our final evening’s dinner.

Day 5

Monay After breakfast we bid farewell to Yorkshire and begin our homeward journey.
