This fabulous tour takes us to delightful Cheshire, known for its rural half-timbered villages, local red sandstone buildings and for its Industrial Revolution heritage. Its county town is Chester, founded as a Roman fort in the first century, home to the Roman walls and cathedral displaying 1,000 years of architectural history. Our base overlooks the Cheshire Plains and the distant Mersey estuary. We have a superb programme of varied excursions featuring North Wales, Peak District and Chester itself.
