England’s largest county, Yorkshire, contains some real gems, magnificent scenery, contrasting countryside, colourful towns and a wonderful historical heritage. Our superb tour offers a chance to sample some of these gems by coach and boat and it is always much enjoyed by our clients.

Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa is just a stone's throw from Leeds, also close to Harrogate, York and of course the Dales. All rooms have free WiFi, tea/coffee making facilities and each has a modern bathroom. A lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Sunday We depart our home area heading north towards Yorkshire. We make a stop in the City of Leeds where we will have time to explore before continuing on to our hotel. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon, with plenty of time to settle in and relax before dinner this evening.

Day 2

Monday A leisurely breakfast before we travel to England’s ‘Eternal City’, York. It is a city of great beauty, enticing visitors with its timeless charm. See exquisite architecture, stroll through cobbled streets, visit iconic York Minster, the fascinating Railway Museum, or simply watch the world go by whilst sipping a drink by the river. Late afternoon we return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Tuesday After a leisurely breakfast we travel through delightful scenery to the spa town of Harrogate. Famous for its healing waters, this Victorian Spa town oozes cosmopolitan charm, smart streets and quaint mews. Browse antiques and unusual gifts in the stylish Montpellier Quarter or watch the world go by in Betty’s Tea Rooms. This afternoon we drive the short distance to Harewood House, one of the treasures of England. We return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner.

Day 4

Wednesday Today we head off along the Aire Valley to Skipton, ‘Gateway to the Dales’. Take a stroll around the town and explore some of the interesting little alleyways and shops. Whilst in Skipton we enjoy a cruise on one of the country’s best known waterways. From Skipton we make our way to Haworth, home of the famous Bronte sisters and their notorious brother, little has changed in the village since they lived in the Parsonage. We return to hotel the with time to relax before dinner.

Day 5

Thursday Homeward bound, we bid farewell to our hosts and head south spending time in the charming town of Holmfirth, setting for the long running TV series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ arriving in our home area late afternoon
