Overview

Popular Eastbourne is a lovely, elegant seaside town sheltered by the rolling expanse of the South Downs and the towering cliffs of Beachy Head. It enjoys a remarkably mild and sunny climate, therefore earning its reputation as the ‘Suntrap of the South’. Noted for its cleanliness, beautiful carpet gardens, the attractive three miles of splendid, flat promenade and, of course, the pier. We feature two contrasting excursions and a train ride to make this a memorable tour.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the leisurely journey to the south coast. We break our journey with a visit to the stunning landscapes and botanical heritage at Borde Hill Gardens. We continue to Eastbourne, arriving late afternoon at our hotel, the Langham

Day 2

Tuesday After breakfast we enjoy an excursion into the Cuckmere Valley to visit the pretty down land village of Alfriston. After free time we continue along the Sussex coast to the world’s tallest observation tower, the i360, situated in the heart of Brighton’s famous seafront at the edge of the historic West Pier. We slowly cruise up the world’s first vertical cable car to a height of 450 feet from which we enjoy breath-taking 360 degree views. We spend the remainder of the day in Regency Brighton, renowned for its quirky shops in the famous ‘Lanes’ and cosmopolitan outlook.

Day 3

Wednesday Today we have a free day to explore Eastbourne, one of England’s best loved seaside resorts. Eastbourne has a leisurely atmosphere with its elegant seafront terraces, level promenades and immaculate gardens. Why not enjoy a seafront stroll, make your way into the town to have a look around or just sit and relax and watch the world go by.

Day 4

Thursday This morning we travel inland to the Sheffield Park Gardens, where the game of cricket was first played between two local villages. The internationally renowned parkland and gardens were laid out in the 18th century by Capability Brown. We also include a ride on the Bluebell Railway, a heritage line running from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead and the East and West Sussex border, before returning to the hotel.

Day 5

Friday This morning after breakfast we depart Eastbourne for a scenic morning drive along the Sussex coast on our way to Bateman’s, a beautiful Jacobean House which was Rudyard Kipling’s family home for over 30 years. After time here we continue our journey, arriving in home areas late afternoon.
