We are based in the Dutch town of Walrum situated on the borders with Belgium and Germany. The perfect spot for our Three Countries Tour. We include a canal cruise in Maastricht and a visit to beautiful Monschau.
We are assured of a warm welcome and great time at the 3 star Walram Hotel The hotel is set in a riverside location just a 2 minute walk from the centre of Valkenburg. All of the comfortably furnished en-suite bedrooms are equipped with a TV and hairdryer. There is a traditional restaurant, a modern bar and an outside terrace. The Walrum also offers an indoor swimming pool. A lift serves all floors and an added bonus is a free bar on selected drinks each night.
Monday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting coach for the drive to Folkestone during which a light breakfast is served. Boarding the morning train a glass of champagne and snacks set the holiday mood. On through Belgium, past Bruges and Brussels to cross the Dutch border and reach our hotel in Valkenburg. We arrive late afternoon with time to settle in before dinner.
Tuesday Today we have a ‘Three Countries’ tour. We start by driving through South Limburg towards Aachen, the historic spa and border town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. We then head for Vaals, South Eastern Holland, and visit the Drielandenpunt (Three Countries Point), the highest point in the Netherlands where Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands meet! After free time here for lunch, we drive through Belgium and visit the Netherlands American Cemetery at Margraten
Wednesday A day to nearby Maastricht, one of the oldest cities in Holland and home of Andre Rieu. We can enjoy a 1 hour boat trip on the river Maas, taking the sights of Maastricht, passing through 3 locks before exploring the city at our leisure. Our return to the hotel allows time to prepare for the ‘Fancy Dress’ evening and dinner.
Thursday A morning visit to Monschau, without doubt, one of the most beautiful towns in Germany. It’s an idyllic place of narrow steep roofed, half timbered houses and inns clustered along the banks of the small River Rur. We return to Valkenburg for an afternoon at leisure.
Friday After breakfast we make our way back to the shuttle terminal via Brussels and Bruges for the afternoon train back to Folkestone. Our return to our home area is early evening at the end of a memorable break.
