The family run Lothersdale is situated on the central promenade. All of the en-suite bedrooms include a TV, Wi-Fi and tea/coffee making facilities. A lift serves all floors. The hotel offers live entertainment some evenings as well as its delightful sun lounge, boasting a panoramic view of the bay and Lake District Mountains. A lift serves all floors.
Monday Our door to door takes you to the waiting ‘Club Class’ coach for the drive to Morecambe. On arrival tea, coffee and biscuits will be served whilst our bags are taken up to our rooms. We enjoy time to settle in before dinner this evening.
Tuesday Today’s excursion takes us around Morecambe Bay to the resort of Grange-over-Sands where we take a break and have chance to look around. From here we make our way to lovely town of Kendal where we have more time for exploration. The ruins of 13th century Kendal Castle overlooks the town and the Parish Church is one of the widest in the country with 5 aisles. After an excellent afternoon we make our way back to Morecambe.
Wednesday Travelling through the scenic Lune Valley, we head for the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. From Ingleton we climb into the Pennines to the famous viaduct at Ribblehead before we continue across the moors to the thriving community of Hawes, with its antique shops, craftspeople and cafes. Our return journey takes us via the lonely Moorcock Inn and Garsdale Head to Sedbergh, Kirkby Lonsdale and Carnforth to Morecambe.
Thursday A day tour to England’s outstanding natural beauty, the Lake District. We drive north to Bowness to spend time beside the waters of Windermere then climb the rugged Kirkstone Pass, affording outstanding views, to tranquil Ullswater then on to Keswick, a busy market town overlooked by soaring Skiddaw, after free time we return by way of Wordsworth’s beloved Grasmere and Ambleside with its famous bridge house.
Friday After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts as we make our way home. We enjoy a drive through the Peak District with before arriving back in our home areas late afternoon.
