This tour covers a variety of places for you to enjoy in the ‘Heart of Wales’. We enjoy beautiful sights at every turn as well as visiting Penderyn Distillery.
Located in the historic spa town of Llandrindod Wells, in the ‘Heart of Wales’ this beautiful town with its Victorian canopied streets make the perfect base for this tour. Hotel facilities include a spacious lounge, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and a gym. All of the en-suite bedrooms have TV, telephone, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has 2 lifts which serve all floors.
Day 1 We leave our home areas to join the Club Class coach for the drive to Wales arriving in Llandrindod Wells late afternoon with time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 This morning we drive to Brecon. Here lies the former county town of Brecknockshire which later became the important market town of Powys. Explore the narrow streets and passageways which are lined with beautiful Georgian shopfronts before obtaining lunch and re-joining the coach for our drive south to the Penderyn Distillery. Known as one of Wales’ most famous whiskeys, we enjoy a guided tour and a sample before heading to the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre on our way back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3 After breakfast we drive north-west to the Welsh coast at Aberystwyth with its variety of attractions and retail opportunities. After time for lunch, we visit the Elan Valley Visitor Centre.
Day 4 We head through the Welsh countryside crossing into England where we visit Ludlow, possibly one of Britain’s most attractive towns. The walled medieval town boasts historic Ludlow Castle as well as much more. After our lunch stop we drive to the Cathedral City of Hereford. Enjoy a stroll along the river of perhaps a wander around one of the many museums before joining the coach for the drive back to the hotel.
Day 5 After breakfast we leave Wales and head for home. Late afternoon we arrive in our home areas where we are greeted by our awaiting taxis.
