Overview

2021 marks the 77th Anniversary of Operation Market Garden’s daring attempt to bring WWII to an early end. The camaraderie between the town and the British can still be felt today. This exciting tour to Holland includes a visit to the Keukenhof, one of the world’s largest flower gardens, where the famous tulips blossom in an explosion of colour then time in Arnhem as we learn the local history and view beautiful scenery.

The 4 star Hotel De Bilderberg enjoys a tranquil location in picturesque woodland in Oosterbeek close to the Airborne Museum. Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Friday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Folkestone during which a light breakfast is served. Boarding the morning train a glass of champagne and snacks sets the holiday mood. On through Belgium, past Bruges and Antwerp to cross the Dutch border and reach our hotel in Oosterbeek late afternoon to enjoy a welcome drink and dinner.


Day 2

Saturday After breakfast we make our way to Keukenhof where we see the spectacular flower displays. Opening in 1950, Keukenhof is also known as the Garden of Europe and is one of the world's largest flower gardens. Although the gardens are only open for 2 months of the year to the public, they welcome over 800,000 guests each year. After a colourful day we return to the hotel for dinner.


Day 3

Sunday This morning we are joined by a guide for a coach tour of Arnhem and the surrounding countryside, scene of the famous battle of 1944. Taking in the beautiful sights we learn of the town’s history and culture before we say goodbye to our guide and continue on our way to the emotive Airborne Museum Hartenstein. Enjoy time to wander around the many displays before we return to the hotel late afternoon.


Day 4

Monday We bid farewell to our hosts as we make our way back through Belgium to Calais to catch the train to Folkestone. Arriving in England late afternoon we make use of the motorways and drive north to arrive in our home areas this evening.
