We are pleased to return to the stunning Dolomite region of Italy with this super ‘All Inclusive’ package. Our great value holiday offers the chance to experience the magnificent scenery of the Dolomites, the beautiful region on the south side of the Alps, long fought over by the rulers of both Italy and Austria, it is now Italian by right, but Austrian by nature. We stay in the resort of Fai della Paganella in the very north of Italy, bordering Austria and Switzerland, best known for the beauty of its peaks. We include a full and varied excursion programme along with unlimited wine and water with dinner, a nightly ‘Free Bar’, a ‘Grolla’ evening, and live music.
This small and friendly, Austrian chalet style hotel is under the direct management of Fausto and his family, who assure all guests receive the warmest of welcomes and genuine hospitality. Each of the en suite bedrooms is well equipped and served by a lift. There is a cosy bar, comfortable lounge and a leisure facilities with sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room.
Tuesday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting coach for the drive to Folkestone during which a light breakfast is served. Boarding the mid morning train a glass of fizz and snacks set the holiday mood. On through Belgium and into Germany, travelling on to our overnight hotel in Saarbrucken
Wednesday We continue our drive through Germany crossing the Rhine and by way of the Black Forest to spend time for lunch in the fine city of Ulm, situated on the Blue Danube. This afternoon we cross the Bavarian Alps to Innsbruck and on to Brenner then the last part of our journey across the Italian border to arrive at our holiday hotel, the Paganella. Dinner this evening is preceded by a sparkling welcome drink.
Thursday A leisurely breakfast before our host, Fausto, escorts us on a scenic walk into the surrounding countryside. At lunch time we enjoy a delicious picnic of pizza and wine with stunning mountain scenery all around. This evening’s dinner is followed by fun and games.
Friday A morning drive through impressive scenery to stunning Merano, ancient seat of the Dukes of Tirol. The town abounds with shops restaurants and cafes offering delicious strudel. Our return is along the scenic wine route making a stop at St Michael Eppan to maybe taste some of the wonderful produce! Our dinner this evening is followed by something a little different! We experience the Italian tradition of ‘Grolla’ - an oddly shaped, covered wooden bowl with several spouts around the outside containing a mixture of coffee and grappa, it is passed around, and everyone drinks from a different spout!
Saturday A full day excursion to Lake Garda. Along the Adige Valley to Riva for sightseeing and time to arrange a boat cruise in this picturesque resort, then along the lake shore to pretty Malcesine. We return to our hotel for where this evening’s meal is preceded by a wine tasting in the restaurant and followed by live music in the bar.
Sunday Full day tour of the magnificent Dolomites via Ora, Moena and the Sellajoch Pass. We travel through green valleys and pine clad mountain slopes, passing towering rocky crags and snow capped peaks where the colours are simply stunning, cameras are a must. We return to our hotel with time to relax before our final evening meal, a farewell candlelit Trentino dinner with music.
Monday We bid a reluctant farewell to our hosts a travel back via Ulm and Stuttgart to return our overnight hotel in Saarbrucken.
Tuesday Retracing the route of our outward journey we make for Reims, then on to Calais and our late afternoon Eurotunnel crossing back to the UK to return to our home area mid evening.
