We are pleased to offer this popular tour to the historic walled border town of Chepstow which sits on the Welsh side of the River Wye and is the perfect base from which to explore two of the regions areas of historical significance and outstanding natural beauty.

Our resort set in the rolling hills of South Wales, is just 3 miles from Chepstow. All off the en-suite bedrooms offer a TV, hairdryer, ironing board & iron and tea/coffee making facilities. Public rooms include a contemporary lounge and bar, a stylish restaurant and a host of leisure facilities. There is no lift as most rooms are on the ground floor. A degree of mobility is required to access this spacious hotel.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Thursday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting coach for the leisurely drive through the Heart of England with time for lunch and sightseeing in the historic city of Gloucester. Visit the docks, Britain’s most inland port; explore the waterside museums or the wide selection of retail outlets. Mid afternoon we head south through the Severn Valley to reach Chepstow and our luxury hotel for a welcoming cup of tea or coffee, which is served whilst our luggage is taken to our rooms.


Day 2

Friday This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the Royal Mint Experience where we see how metal becomes coins and observe the striking hall. This afternoon we make our way to Cardiff where we have free time before returning to the hotel.


Day 3

Today we visit iconic Tintern Abbey, nestled on the pretty banks of the River Wye. We have time to explore the remarkable ruins of this once jewel in the monastic crown. Here we take time for lunch in the town before heading to Monmouth for time at leisure before returning to the hotel for dinner.


Day 4

Sunday After breakfast we embark on a 6 mile train journey on the Brecon Mountain Railway. We journey along before climbing high on the Brecon Beacons. We have time to visit the locomotive workshop before heading to the famous Penderyn Distillery where we enjoy a guided tour and tasting.


Day 5

Monday We bid farewell to our hosts as we make our way home. We start with a tour of the Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills affording great views of the Severn Valley, making time for lunch in the historic city and county capital Warwick. Continuing on we arrive in our home areas late afternoon.
