Your Accommodation:

The Winnock Hotel - 3 Star

Formerly a coaching inn, The Winnock hotel has been lovingly restored and tastefully extended to its present day form. The 3 star hotel is located in the centre of the attractive village of Drymen and proved popular with our clients for many years, not least because of its warm welcome and attention to detail. All bedrooms are en-suite and located across two floors with a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Although the hotel does not have a lift, ground floor rooms are available on request.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday We journey north from our home area via Scotch Corner, Gretna Green and Glasgow to reach our hotel late afternoon in time for our first evening’s dinner.

Day 2

Tuesday Today we enjoy a visit to Balloch, home to the Loch Lomond Shopping and Visitor’s mall, boasting fine views over the loch. After time for lunch we make our way to the Glengoyne Whiskey Distillery for an interesting tour and tasting before we make our way back to the hotel.

Day 3

Wednesday This morning we head to the Falkirk Wheel where we can enjoy a 50 minute boat ride which lifts the boat up to join the union Canal, 35m above, and sails smoothly from the Falkirk Wheel and back to our joining point. After we head to Stirling where we have time to admire the city and perhaps visit Stirling castle with its picturesque views over the Scottish landscape.

Day 4

Thursday After breakfast we board the coach for a scenic journey to the Trossachs region, stopping at the little town of Callander, ideal for picking up a souvenir. This afternoon we make our way to Loch Katrine where we enjoy a relaxing afternoon cruise with its magnificent views. Later we head south to Aberfooyle, home of the Scottish Wool Centre where we have a break before returning to the hotel for our final evening’s dinner in Scotland.

Day 5

Friday We bid farewell to our hosts before beginning our return journey. We travel to Glasgow and through Strathclyde stopping at Gretna Green, before crossing the border. Now south to return to our home area and waiting taxis early evening.
