Situated in a quiet yet central location, this impressive property sits directly on Bibione’s wide, sandy beach. Public areas are extremely well furnished and spacious, and all 148 bedrooms are appointed in a warm and traditional style. Cuisine is first class with an extensive and high quality buffet presented each evening in the hotel’s elegant restaurant. There are attractive outside areas, terraces and a fabulous swimming pool overlooking the hotel’s own private beach. All rooms are served by lifts.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Friday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Folkestone during which a light breakfast is served. Boarding the morning shuttle train to Calais, champagne and snacks set the holiday mood. On through France to the Alsace region and our overnight hotel, arriving late afternoon well in time for dinner.

Day 2

Saturday Today we cross the Vosges Mountains and follow the River Rhine south into Switzerland. Passing Lucerne we enjoy a superb scenic drive towards the Alps. Crossing the spectacular Gotthard Pass, weather permitting, we soon reach the Italian lakes and our next overnight hotel.

Day 3

Sunday A leisurely breakfast and time to explore our pretty lakeside town before heading east towards the Adriatic. We reach our excellent beachfront 5 star hotel in Bibione mid-afternoon with plenty of time to settle in well before dinner.

Day 4

Monday We spend today relaxing in the magnificent comfort of our hotel, with the beach, shops and cafes of charming Bibione at our fingertips. We can enjoy a wine tasting at a local producer’s shop in the centre of Bibione and perhaps take time to visit and relax in the town’s impressive thermal baths adjacent to our hotel, where we have complimentary entrance. The beautiful sandy beach is an ideal place to unwind and enjoy a gentle stroll.

Day 5

Tuesday Today we can enjoy a full days’ visit to Trieste. Located right on the border between Italy and Slovenia, Trieste is a hidden gem of a city, boasting a heady mix of different cultures. Stylish and enjoying a fabulous waterfront location we can really feel the influence of Austria, the Hapsburgs and visually the city is somewhere between Italy, Vienna and Prague. We can visit the Miramare Castle, built by the Hapsburgs, overlooking the sea and with lovely gardens. Perhaps take the old tram from the city centre up to Opicina and the Carso plateau and admire the wonderful views over the city and gulf. There will be plenty of free time for us to enjoy Trieste’s famous café life and people watch whilst indulging in a sacher torte and coffee.

Day 6

Wednesday This morning we travel to the historical city of Udine, which was influenced by the Habsburgs, Lombards and the Venetian republic. The delightful Udine cathedral is located in Piazza Duomo and the wonderful castle is right in the historic centre. From here we drive to the little village of San Daniele, where prosciutto crudo is produced from start to finish and the combination of intoxicating air from the mountains and the Adriatic Sea makes the San Daniele area the perfect place to age prosciutto. In the afternoon we continue onto the charming town of Gorizia, renowned for its white wines, located at the foot of the Julian alps, where we can have some free time for a stroll and coffee.

Day 7

Thursday After breakfast we head west into Veneto and visit the lovely little town of Treviso. Interspersed by pretty canals Treviso is flat and easy to stroll around. In the afternoon we head back east visiting the charming small town of Portogruaro. Nicknamed the city of the ‘porticoes’ and located on the Lemene river it’s the ideal spot to sit at a waterside café and finish the day with a cool AperolSpritz!

Day 8

Friday Another day at leisure in our superb resort relax on the beach or spend time shopping for those last minute gifts.

Day 9

Saturday After breakfast before we bid farewell to our coastal holiday home and return across the Italian plains to the Alps. Into Switzerland through the Gotthard Tunnel and beside beautiful Lake Lucerne to reach France at Basle. We continue on to our overnight hotel in Mulhouse.

Day 10

Sunday Homeward bound through the Alsace countryside passing Reims and Arras in order to reach Calais. Here we take the late afternoon train back to Folkestone, arriving in our home area early evening, after an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
