Historic York’s St Nicolas Fayre is a traditional Christmas celebration with decorated stalls spread out through the delightful cobbled streets and squares. In addition there are various street entertainers such as Morris dancers, jugglers, brass bands and choirs. Our tour also includes a visit to magnificent Castle Howard which will be decorated to celebrate Yuletide.

Friday From your door to the waiting coach for the drive north making a stop the city of Lincoln. On through Yorkshire to reach our hotel near Wetherby late afternoon. We enjoy a cup of tea, whilst the luggage is taken to our rooms and time to relax well before dinner
Saturday Today we visit York and the St Nicolas Fayre. The city comes alive with costumed traders, carol singers and the smell of hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts. The streets are lined with colourful stalls offering Christmas gifts, mulled wines and craft demonstrations. As well as the Christmas Market York has a wealth of attractions including the magnificent Minster, fascinating museums and the famous Shambles with its medieval buildings and narrow cobbled streets.
Sunday Today we visit the beautiful Castle Howard. An 18th century residence that has been home to the Howard family for over 300 years which will be lavishly decorated for Christmas. In rooms lit by fire and candlelight you can marvel at the giant Christmas trees, spectacular display of festive ‘twigs’, traditional decorations and floral arrangements. Knowledgeable guides are on hand to describe how Yorkshire’s finest historic house gets ready for Christmas. Mid afternoon we begin our return to our home area, arriving early evening
