After much success last year, we return to Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre, said to be the best medieval show in the land is held in Ludlow’s magnificent castle and features over 100 stalls selling seasonal gifts with a medieval nature. There is music, minstrels, merriment and mirth, as well as Knights, Dragons, Giants, Juggler, Dancers, Storytellers and displays. We also include a visit to the popular Birmingham Festive Market - the largest authentic German Christmas Market outside Germany and visit the Victorian town Christmas Market at Blist’s Hill.

Buckatree Hall Hotel - 3 Star

The 3 star Buckatree Hall Hotel is a renowned comfortable country house hotel, with its own mature gardens and private lake, offering a relaxing retreat where you can escape from the pressure of day to day life. Many of the rooms enjoy scenic views of the hotels own lake and gardens, providing a memorable setting in which to relax. All bedrooms are en-suite and have a television and tea/coffee making facilities. This hotel does have a lift.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Friday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive directly to Birmingham where we soak up the atmosphere of the festive season at their exciting German market. Later we arrive at the Buckatree Hall hotel for 2 night stay. Upon arrival we enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits followed by time to relax before dinner.

Day 2

Saturday This morning we head south for the scenic drive, through Much Wenlock and in the shadow of Wenlock Edge to reach Ludlow for the medieval Christmas Fayre, rightly claimed to be the best in the land with a host of stalls, events and entertainers all in the setting of the towering castle. We remain until late afternoon. The day is yours to explore the Medieval Fayre and the historic town before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Sunday Leaving the hotel after a leisurely breakfast we visit the impressive Ironbridge Gorge where the world’s first iron bridge forms the centre of this World Heritage Site then on to Blists Hill Victorian town for time at its Christmas Market. This 52 acre site is a bustling recreation of a Victorian town. Buy curious products in the Chemist, Grocers and Drapers, discover what life was like for a housewife in the cottages, enjoy a drink in the New Inn, a portion of delicious fish and chips, or a bag of old fashioned sweets. Mid afternoon we make our way back to our home area arriving early evening after our enjoyable weekend away.
