A new Christmas destination takes us to a beautiful part of England. Along the upper reaches of the River Severn and the borders between England and Wales, the countryside of Shropshire shelters some of the most beautiful landscapes and unspoilt towns that you can imagine. From poetry to iron, inspiration lives on. The 3 star Buckatree Hall Hotel is a renowned comfortable country house hotel, with its own mature gardens and private lake, offering a relaxing retreat where you can escape from the pressure of day to day life. Many of the rooms enjoy scenic views of the hotels own lake and gardens, providing a memorable setting in which to relax. All bedrooms are en-suite and have a television and tea/coffee making facilities. This hotel does have a lift.
Thursday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting coach for the scenic drive through the heart of England to the Wrekin arriving in the afternoon at Buckatree Hall Hotel, our holiday home for the next 4 nights. Join your fellow guests for a welcome cream tea on arrival. Dinner is followed by tea, coffee and mince pies.
Friday - Christmas Eve This morning we have a short drive to historic Shrewsbury. Set within a loop of the meandering River Severn in the heart of Shropshire, Shrewsbury is one of Englandís splendid heritage towns, with over 600 listed buildings. The black & white timber buildings and picturesque cobbled alleyways house a selection of independent shops, cafes, restaurants & pubs. We enjoy lunch at the excellent Prince Rupert Hotel before making our way back to the hotel for dinner and entertainment. For those wishing to attend Midnight Mass details of church services will be available. Hot chocolate and mince pies will be served on your return.
Saturday - Christmas Day Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and open your presents this morning. Take a stroll and work up an appetite for Christmas Lunch. Listen to the Queens speech followed by tea, coffee, mince pies and Christmas cake. A buffet dinner will be followed by a festive quiz.
Sunday - Boxing Day This morning we have a short drive to scenic Ironbridge, travelling into the gorge and taking a break in Ironbridge village. Take a stroll over the bridge itself and wonder at its amazing construction. We return to the hotel for a light lunch served at midday before leaving for the Oakengates Theatre in Telford and take our seats for the Christmas Pantomime and an afternoon of fun and laughter. Tonight we have a Gala Dinner followed by a final evening of entertainment.
Monday After a leisurely breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and begin our homeward journey. After suitable stops we arrive in our home area mid afternoon.
