Known for being the hometown of the world famous Beatles our Christmas tour in Liverpool offers a unique experience of the iconic places that inspired the songs of the Fab 4 and celebrate that special time of year. We include a great hotel located in the heart of the city with panoramic views of the Mersey, a guided tour of the renowned city and a traditional Pantomime.
The 4 star Atlantic Tower Hotel is located opposite the iconic Royal Liver building and within walking distance of some of Liverpool’s best attractions including the Albert Dock.. All the bedrooms are spacious, modern and well appointed, some with superb views over the city. Public facilities include the Vu Bar & Terrace and a stylish restaurant. Lifts serve all floors.
Thursday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach as we drive north to Liverpool. We arrive at the Mercure Atlantic Tower Hotel, our home for the next four nights, where tea/coffee and treats are served on arrival whilst the luggage is taken to our rooms. This evening we enjoy pre dinner cocktails and canapes, then after dinner entertainment is provided.
Friday – Christmas Eve This morning we are joined by our local guide for a fascinating tour of the city, including places such as Strawberry Feld and Penny Lane made famous by the Beatles, Titanic White Star Line headquarters, the Cathedrals and much more. Afterwards we enjoy free time to explore at leisure, a must is the nearby Albert Dock recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, before returning to the hotel to prepare for our Celebration Dinner. This evening we are entertained by the hotel’s resident singer. Later mulled wine/hot chocolate and mince pies are served
Saturday – Christmas Day A relaxing day begins with a Bucks Fizz breakfast then perhaps a gentle waterfront stroll before a 4 course traditional Christmas Lunch. Later listen to the Queen’s speech with coffee and Christmas cake. Dinner this evening is a hot/cold buffet after which we enjoy a classic Christmas film with ice cream and popcorn
Sunday – Boxing Day This morning our excursion takes us through the Mersey Tunnel to the Wirral. We then make the short journey to the always popular Port Sunlight Village, built by William Hesketh Lever for his factory workers and named after his famous Sunlight soap. We return to the hotel for a light lunch then it’s off to the Pantomime for a fun time matinee. This evening our final night’s dinner brings our Christmas break to a close
Monday After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and begin our journey home. Arriving mid-afternoon we are greeted by our awaiting taxis after a delightful festive break.
