We return to pretty Wells, taking its name from three springs that emerged near the Bishop’s Palace. Home to England’s smallest cathedral city, the cathedral is one of the most beautiful in England and has a truly medieval character. The highlight of our visit is an included cream tea before Evensong at the beautiful cathedral. We include visits to Georgian Bath, the Mysterious Mendip Hills and maritime Bristol.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Saturday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to the West Country. We spend time in Bristol to discover the maritime heritage of the city which includes the restored ‘SS Great Western’ and the vibrant chic harbour area. We continue late afternoon to reach our holiday hotel, where we are welcomed with a glass of Bucks Fizz, followed by time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Sunday A leisurely breakfast before a morning drive to nearby Cheddar Gorge, a popular tourist destination for centuries, we view the magnificent limestone gorge carved into the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills above the village of Cheddar. The sides of the ravine boast the highest inland cliffs in the country. We return to Wells and its magnificent Cathedral is in time for a delicious cream tea before listening to Evensong. A later dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 3

Monday This morning we visit Street, one of England's most picturesque villages and Clark’s Village Outlet Centre. We spend time to explore before continuing to Sheppy’s Cider Centre for an insight into the famed Somerset Scrumpy. Our return to Wells allows time to relax before our final evening’s dinner.

Day 4

Tuesday After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and begin our journey home. Our route includes time in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Early afternoon we drive through the wonderful Cotswolds via noble Cirencester and pretty Bibury. We arrive in our home area late afternoon after a memorable weekend break.
