The Lake District is without a doubt England’s premier area of outstanding natural beauty with a host of fells, lakes and mountains on which to feast your eyes. Our itinerary also includes the famous ‘Mountain Goat’ minibuses that will take us over the Wrynose & Hardknott Passes, a magnificent scenic route not accessible to large coaches.

Your Accommodation:

Riverside Hotel - 3 Star

Overlooking the pretty River Kent in the heart of Kendal, the 3 star Riverside Hotel is perfectly placed for our tour. The hotel has a leisure facility with an indoor heated pool and sauna. The bedrooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished; all are en suite and have tea & coffee making facilities. There is a lift to all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

From your front door north to Boroughbridge where we enter the Yorkshire Dales, calling at Ripon with its fine cathedral, then on through Wensleydale, the terraced waterfalls at Aysgarth and Hawes to reach The Riverside Hotel in Kendal late afternoon with plenty of time to settle in before this evening’s dinner.

Day 2

We climb the rugged Kirkstone Pass, affording outstanding views, to tranquil Ullswater then on to Keswick, a busy market town overlooked by soaring Skiddaw. After free time we return to Kendal by way of Wordsworth’s beloved Grasmere and Ambleside with its famous bridge house.

Day 3

‘High Adventure’! The ‘Mountain Goat’ minibuses take us where large coaches cannot go. This is a wonderful day, taking in the mountain passes of the Western Fells – Wrynose Pass, the desolate Duddon Valley, awesome Hardknott Pass and many other delights.

Day 4

A gentle drive to Newby Bridge and on to Coniston Water, scene of Donald Campbell’s ill fated record attempt, then spend time in pretty Hawkshead of Beatrix Potter fame before returning to the hotel early afternoon for time at leisure in our resort.

Day 5

A fine breakfast before bidding farewell to our hosts as we depart for home. We make for Kirkby Lonsdale and on through broad Ribblesdale with its peaks and caverns to reach Skipton where we have time for the bustling market and lunch. Late afternoon we return to our home area after a memorable break among some of England’s finest scenery.

Day 14

Insurance Premiums are renewed from 1st January 2022. If you are making a booking after this date the rate will be revised from that shown in our brochure.
