Overview

The county of Devon is unique in the British Isles with two different coastlines, green rolling hills, wild moorland and picture postcard villages. Our tour is based in the historic market town of Tiverton situated on the banks of the pretty River Exe ideally placed to ensure the most from our holiday. We include visits to both Exmoor and Dartmoor, the beautiful coastlines, a ride on the South Devon Railway and a horse drawn barge cruise with cream tea

Best Western Tiverton Hotel - 3 Star

The modern 3 star Tiverton Hotel is situated in the heart of the Exe Valley but only 10 minutes level walk from the centre of the town. The en-suite bedrooms are equipped with colour TV, telephone, hairdryer, trouser press and tea/coffee making facilities. Tastefully decorated public rooms include a lounge bar and restaurant noted for its good menu choice. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Our door to door service takes you to the waiting club class coach for the drive west. We travel by way of Swindon and the Vale of White Horse to spend time in the city of Bristol, famed for its rich nautical heritage. We view the Clifton suspension bridge on our afternoon drive to Tiverton and our holiday hotel, arriving late afternoon for a welcoming cup of tea.


Day 2

A full day excursion to the glorious scenery of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We drive through the pretty Exe Valley to spend time in picturesque Dunster, dominated by its historic castle. Now on to the noted North Devon resort of Minehead for time to explore.


Day 3

We travel to the Jurassic Coast and the timeless resort of Sidmouth. Take a stroll along the picturesque promenade of this Regency seaside town and admire the Georgian and Victorian buildings. We return to Tiverton for an included cruise on a Tiverton Horse Drawn Barge and a delicious cream tea.


Day 4

A scenic drive through the Dartmoor National Park, used for the filming of the emotive movie ‘Warhorse’. We visit the famed village of Widecombe in the Moor then board a steam train of the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh for a ride along the former branch line of the Great Western Railway to Totnes, following the course of the stunning River Dart


Day 5

We leave the West Country and head homeward. Our route is via picturesque Castle Combe and Cirencester, where we make a stop for lunch, then on through the glorious Cotswolds to return to our home area and waiting taxis late afternoon.

Insurance Premiums are renewed from 1st January 2022. If you are making a booking after this date the rate will be revised from that shown in our brochure.
