Your Accommodation:

Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel - 4 Star

The stunning Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane is one of Scotland’s most famous hotels. It is a beautifully restored Victorian property set in 10 acres of private grounds, offering breath-taking views of the Trossachs. All bedrooms are en-suite and include a TV and all the modern-day facilities you would expect from a hotel of this standard. The hotel features a leisure centre which include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. The hotel boasts a stylish restaurant and a lift.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach then north by motorway to North Yorkshire and then a scenic drive to our overnight hotel, the Holiday Inn, located in the historic county town of Dumfries.

Day 2

A full Scottish breakfast before continuing our drive north, we take the road through Nithdale, famous for its association with Robbie Burns, then over the glorious Mennock Pass to spend time in Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow. This afternoon we complete our journey to arrive at the Hilton hotel in Dunblane mid afternoon.

Day 3

After breakfast, we enjoy a relaxing morning around the hotel before we take a short drive into historic Stirling. Standing on a high plug of volcanic rock at the head of the Old Town, the castle is well worth a visit and the attractions include The Great Hall, Chapel Royal, Great Kitchens and the stunning Renaissance Royal Palace. Nearby is the Church of the Holy Rude, worth a look if only for the magnificent stained glass.

Day 4

Our day begins with a drive across the Kincardine Bridge to visit the village of Culross. Here is the nearest thing to a 16th century time capsule you will find anywhere in Scotland. It is as though much of the core of the village was simply frozen in time. The village is now in the care of the National Trust of Scotland, time to wander around this ‘wee gem’. From here we continue on our way across the iconic Forth Road Bridge to Falkirk. Here we take a ride on the newly restored Falkirk Wheel, which is used to transport canal boats from one level to another, this is now a superb feat of engineering and is a fascinating experience.

Day 5

This morning we follow the River Forth past the site of the emotive Battle of Bannockburn to Edinburgh. We include a short tour of both the New & Old towns seeing many of the famous landmarks before time at leisure in the vibrant city. With so much to see and do, why not visit the Castle, explore Holyrood Palace which stands at the end of The Royal Mile or take a wander down Princes Street with its quality shops and lovely gardens.

Day 6

Our final Scottish breakfast before bidding farewell to our hosts at the Dunblane Hilton Hotel. We travel south to Gretna then cross into England and by motorway to return to our home area late afternoon after a memorable Scottish Heritage break.

Day 14

Insurance Premiums are renewed from 1st January 2022. If you are making a booking after this date the rate will be revised from that shown in our brochure.
