An Epic Tale of England is the UK's 'must see' spectacular outdoor live action show. This colourful event takes place at 11 Arches in beautifully landscaped grounds, nestled at the bottom of the escarpment on which Auckland Castle proudly sits in Bishop Auckland.

Holiday Inn Gosforth Park Newcastle - 3 Star

This modern 3 star hotel is located just to the north of Newcastle. All en-suite bedrooms are very spacious, with tea/coffee making facilities and T.V. There is an informal brasserie-style restaurant and a modern bar with comfortable seating. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and gym. Lifts serve all floors.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to the north east. En-route we make a stop at the floral town of Harrogate for lunch. This Yorkshire spa town offers a choice of activities from a spot of shopping, to a wander through gardens and plenty of coffee shops. This afternoon we continue towards the city of Newcastle and our holiday Hotel arriving in time for tea/coffee, biscuits and pastries.


Day 2

A leisurely start to the day before we make our way towards Bishop Auckland and Kynren, arriving with plenty of time to explore before the evening performance Two thousand years of history, myth and legend rush by in 90 minutes as we join young Arthur on his epic quest. Rebellions, wars, magic, majesty, celebration and heartache are vividly brought to ground-shaking life in a dazzling outdoor-theatre spectacular. From Boudicca’s battles with the Romans to two world wars, via Vikings, Tudors and the fate of Charles I, Kynren’s a spellbinding, family-friendly experience delivering thrills, shocks, tears, laughs, goosebumps and gasps on a truly cinematic scale. The largesite contains all the facilities one expects at such an event and features tiered seating for over 8,000 visitors. Our return to the hotel is late evening.


Day 3

A later start for today’s excursion which sees us take the road to historic Hexham and through the glorious scenery of the Northumberland National Park making a stop at the enormous reservoir, Kielder Water before returning to the hotel late afternoon.


Day 4

Homeward bound, south over the Cleveland Hills and through the North Yorkshire Moors to spend time in popular Helmsley. Now south by motorway to return to our home area arriving late afternoon at the end of a memorable break.
