Join us as we return to Bideford, the ancient port on the glorious North Devon coast; its lanes are lined with quirky little shops, packed with all manner of interesting items and its expansive waterfront and quay are the perfect place to take a stroll. Our itinerary has been carefully put together to show the best of one of this country’s most beautiful areas.

A morning at leisure in the lovely old town of Bideford, a must is a visit to the lively Victorian Pannier Market together with the Butcher's Row of small artisan stalls running along the lower level of the Market, there has been a market on the site since 1675. Later we travel along the Torridge Valley, this is ‘Tarka the Otter’ country, to RHS Rosemoor an enchanting 65 acre garden meticulously maintained and offering visitors delights whatever the season. The garden has its own restaurant and tea room.
A full day excursion to the glorious scenery of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. Through the heart of Exmoor National Park to Simonsbath then spend time in picturesque Dunster, dominated by its historic castle. Our return is along the spectacular coast road past ‘Lorna Doone’ country to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by the world famous Cliff Railway.
This morning we journey to the unique village of Clovelly, heading first to the visitors centre where we begin our experience of the private Clovelly estate. Modelled on a traditional Devon long barn, the award-winning Visitor Centre houses a cafe and souvenir shops so the village remains uncommercialised. Now on to the lovely village itself with its flower strewn cobbled street, clinging to the steep cliff on its descent into the harbour. (As Clovelly is completely traffic free, we have included the cost of a return Landrover transfer). We return to our hotel for an included cream tea.
We reluctantly bid farewell to our hosts at the Royal and begin our homeward journey. After stops for refreshments we return to our home area and waiting taxis late afternoon.
