Join us as we visit the west coast of Ireland and the lovely Counties of Limerick and Clare. Our tour is based in Adare is regarded as being Ireland's prettiest and most picturesque village. The streets are lined with original thatched cottages survived for hundreds of years. Some of the cottages are kept as local restaurants and Arts & Crafts shops, but many are still privately owned. We include visits to Europe’s highest cliffs at Mohr, Foynes Flying Boat Museum and Bunratty Castle & Folk Park.

Woodlands House Hotel - 3 Star

The highly impressive, modern Woodlands House Hotel is set in 44 acres of land on the edge of the village. Each of the tastefully furnished bedrooms are spacious and bright. All have en-suite bathrooms, direct dial telephone, TV with satellite channels, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel boasts an impressive restaurant, bars and comprehensive leisure centre. Although there is no lift, the hotel is spread across just 2 floors with many rooms on the ground floor.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the cross country drive to Holyhead, during our journey a light breakfast is served. In Holyhead we board the cruise ferry Ulysses, the size of which is impressive, for the crossing to Dublin, we include entrance to the Club Lounge making the crossing more enjoyable and relaxing. On arrival in the Republic we drive the short distance to our 3 star overnight hotel, the Aspect Hotel Park West in Dublin.

Day 2

Journey towards Limerick via the ancient town of Birr with its famous castle, then follow the beautiful Lough Derg drive to Killaloe. Free time in Limerick before continuing to pretty Adare late afternoon. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served upon our arrival then time to settle in well before dinner.

Day 3

A full day starting with a visit to the Foynes Flying Boat Museum, which recalls the era from 1939 to 1945 when Foynes was the centre for air traffic between the U.S. and Europe. During our guided tour we have to sample an Irish coffee! We continue with a ferry crossing of the mighty Shannon and follow the coastline to the spectacular Cliffs of Mohr where we spend time before returning to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.

Day 4

Today’s first port of call is to the historic county town of Ennis famed for its music. Coaching a little further we reach Bunratty Castle, the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. We include entrance to the Bunratty Folk Park and tea with scones, here we experience a living reconstruction of the homes and environment of Ireland of over a century ago. Rural farmhouses, village shops and streets are recreated and furnished as they would have appeared at that time according to their social standing, from the poorest one roomed dwelling to Bunratty House a fine example of a Georgian residence for the gentry.

Day 5

Another day of wonderful scenery. Our first visit is to the charming town of Tralee, for a short visit, before continuing around the beautiful Dingle Peninsular. The roads are lined by fuchsia hedges and the Atlantic views as we round rugged Slea Head are unforgettable. We include time in Dingle before our return to Adare.

Day 6

We depart Adare after a leisurely breakfast for Dublin. We enjoy a city tour then time at leisure in the capital city before checking in to our overnight hotel, the Aspect Park West.

Day 7

We return to Dublin port for the early ferry back to Wales. This morning’s breakfast is taken on board the crossing. Using the motorway we travel through Cheshire and the Midlands to arrive in our home area mid-evening.
