A fabulous event which sees the iconic Wiltshire Estate of Longleat transported to a whimsical fairy tale land of imagination, through a series of giant and awe-inspiring illuminated lantern displays evoking a sense of fantasy and nostalgia amongst all ages. Alongside the remarkable outdoor experiences, Longleat’s prestigious Elizabethan stately home will be dressed in traditional Edwardian festive décor. This is where guests are invited to become characters in their own story and immerse themselves in an historic and eye-opening world of butlers, servants and housekeepers.
Your Accommodation:

The 4 star Best Western Swan Hotel is a 15th century coaching inn which faces the west front of Wells Cathedral. The hotel still features some of the original four poster beds and log fires. The hotel boasts 48 individually designed bedrooms, each include tea and coffee making facilities. This hotel does not have a lift but some ground floor rooms are available on request.
Your Itinerary:
Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to the West Country. We spend time in historic Gloucester with its interesting Quays centre. We continue late afternoon to reach our holiday hotel, where we have time to settle in before a pre dinner glass of Bucks Fizz.
A morning at leisure in the delightful city of Wells with its tiny but exquisite cathedral and busy specialist shops. After time to explore and lunch we leave for Longleat House and the stunning Festival of Light. The theme this year is ‘Treasured Tales’. Step straight into your favourite tales and make your Christmas shine. Enjoy Britain’s biggest singing Christmas tree with a spectacular display featuring lights, carols and even a flurry of snow! We return to our hotel in time for dinner.
After a final breakfast we depart the hotel and make for home driving through Cheddar Gorge, a popular tourist destination for centuries, we view the magnificent limestone gorge carved into the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills above the village of Cheddar. We continue through the wonderful Cotswolds via noble Cirencester and pretty Bibury. We arrive in our home area late afternoon after a memorable weekend break.
