A new tour and hotel for this 5 day break taking us throughout Devon to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the county, its pretty towns and bustling cities. Our tour is based in Britain’s ‘Ocean City’, Plymouth at the landmark Duke of Cornwall Hotel.

Your Accommodation:

The Duke of Cornwall Hotel Plymouth is a landmark hotel built in 1863, the Duke has endured at the heart of this maritime city for over a century and a half since. Surviving two World Wars and radical changes in its surrounding environment, the hotel stands as a strong and steadfast connection to days gone by. All bedrooms are en suite, and have television, telephone, hairdryer, iron and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Your Itinerary:

From your front door to the Club Class coach for the drive south to Devon. Arriving late afternoon we enjoy time to relax before dinner.

Our day takes to the Cathedral City of Exeter. This beautiful city is the capital of Devon and is vibrant and full of things to see and do. There is plenty of shopping available in its centres and high-street, the famous Exeter Cathedral and a wide array of tearooms and cafes. This afternoon, we head for Dartmoor driving through the National Park to enjoy its rolling hills and moorland, before arriving at the quaint town of Okehampton.

Today is free to explore the historic city of Plymouth. Take a stroll around the famous Hoe, visit the Barbican Steps and browse around the city centre shops. We include an informative cruise on the River Tamar around the harbour and naval dockyards.

This morning we visit the South Hams, a region of rural and coastal Devon much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, featuring one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the UK. We visit Kingsbridge, Slapton Sands and Dartmouth, home of the Naval College.

After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and make our way home. We arrive in our home areas late afternoon after a delightful holiday in Devon.
