Join us as we return to Bideford, the ancient port on the glorious North Devon coast; its lanes are lined with quirky little shops, packed with all manner of interesting items and its expansive waterfront and quay are the perfect place to take a stroll. Our itinerary has been carefully put together to show the best of one of this country’s most beautiful areas.

The 3 star Royal is part of the family run Brend Hotels noted for their customer care and attention to detail. Situated at end of the medieval bridge spanning the river Torridge, the Royal offers elegance and comfort. Your Itinerary:



Day 1

From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for a leisurely drive through the heart of England to the elegant floral town of Cheltenham for a lunch break then by motorway to arrive at our hotel late afternoon.


Day 2

A morning at leisure in the lovely old town of Bideford, a must is a visit to the lively Victorian Pannier Market together with the Butcher's Row of small artisan stalls running along the lower level of the Market. This afternoon we visit the Victorian seaside resort of Ilfracombe, known as the jewel in the North Devon Coast. Discover a quaint quayside and harbour, whitewashed villas, lovely beaches, coastal paths and an abundance of cafes and shops.


Day 3

A full day excursion to the glorious scenery of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We make our way through scenic ‘Little Switzerland’, as the region is known, to the lovely village of Dunster, with its famous castle and octagonal Yarn Market. We have time in the popular seaside resort of Minehead Our return is along the spectacular coast road past ‘Lorna Doone’ country to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by the world famous Cliff Railway.


Day 4

This morning we travel along the Torridge Valley, this is ‘Tarka the Otter’ country, to RHS Rosemoor an enchanting 65 acre garden meticulously maintained and offering visitors delights whatever the season. The garden has its own restaurant and tea room. We return to Bideford for an afternoon at leisure.


Day 5

We reluctantly bid farewell to our hosts at the Royal and begin our homeward journey. After stops for refreshments we return to our home area and waiting taxis late afternoon.
