Overview
Nestling at the edge of the magnificent Dolomite Mountains, Lake Garda enjoys a lively, warm, Mediterranean climate and the base for our holiday is the lovely resort of Riva de Garda. The historic town of Riva is a Mediterranean oasis where olive trees and palms thrive as well as stretching along the crescent-shaped shore, extending to the Sarca plain and to the foothills of Mount Brione, which separates it from Torbole.
Your Accommodation:

The 4 star Hotel Savoy Palace is located in a quiet position with a breath-taking mountain backdrop, just metres from the historic centre of Riva del Garda and 150 metres from the lake itself. Each of the spacious, light infused bedrooms are en-suite with a balcony, TV, radio, telephone, safe, hairdryer and air-conditioning. The hotel has a sauna, Jacuzzi, a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool. They hotel holds a live piano bar two nights a week and is served by two lifts.
Your Itinerary:
Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive south for the crossing to France. Upon arrival we travel through France to reach our overnight hotel in Forbach in time for dinner.
After breakfast we continue through Germany into Austria, where we cross the scenic Fern Pass then on past Innsbruck and over the Brenner Pass to reach Lake Garda and our holiday resort, Riva del Garda and the Savoy Palace, our home for the next 6 nights.
Today is spent at leisure in Riva to familiarise ourselves with our beautiful resort. This afternoon, tea and cakes will be available at the hotel. We later re-group for dinner.
A full day enjoying the best of Lake Garda. Taking the coach we drive down the east shore of the lake to the charming fortified town of Peschiera, with its pretty harbour and busy weekly market, where we spend some time before continuing to the broad southern end of the lake for time in picturesque Sirmione a popular suntrap having the ancient Scaligeri Castle as its main attraction.
A full day tour to the wonderful South Tyrolean Dolomites. We head north to Bolzano then enter the delightful Val Gardena passing through the beautiful villages of St Ulrich and St Christina stopping at one of the local wood carvers. On through more inspiring mountain scenery to complete our circular tour of the Great Dolomite road before our return to the hotel.
Delightful views of Lake Garda as we drive down the eastern shore to visit the city of Verona with its wealth of pink-hued buildings, perfectly preserved Roman amphitheatre and piazzas. For romantics a visit to Juliet’s house is a must.
This morning we use a different mode of transport for our excursion when we board a lake cruiser for the visits to Limone, the picturesque village that clings to the steep side of the lakes west shore and takes its name from the lemon, then cross the lake to historic Malcesine with its picturesque harbour and narrow cobbled streets. We return to the hotel mid afternoon. The rest of the day is spent at leisure in our resort.
Leaving Garda, we head back through Austria, retracing our outward route into France to reach our overnight hotel in Forbach.
Continuing our homeward journey we make our way to Calais for our return to England. We arrive in our home areas this evening to be greeted by our awaiting taxis.
