Join us on this fun filled pre-Christmas break which has proven so popular with our clients. Our festive themed break includes ‘all the trimmings’ and nightly entertainment. We also include a varied excursion programme with a visit to the famous city of Truro and Charlestown, recently made popular as the home of ‘Poldark’ in the TV drama.
Perfectly located in a quiet residential area at the western end of Newquay, this hotel offers superb coastal views over Fistral beach. Each of the ensuite bedrooms is equipped with a television, hairdryer and hospitality tray, while the spacious lounge, bar and restaurant all offer wonderful views. Comprehensive leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool. The hotel is served by lift.
Monday From your front door to the waiting coach then by way of Oxford and Swindon to join the motorway to Devon and Cornwall for a late afternoon arrival in Newquay. This evening there is a Sherry Reception followed by our evening meal and live entertainment. This evening between 6pm and 9pm there is a complimentary bar.
Tuesday After a full English breakfast, we travel to St Austell, a Georgian harbour village with its variety of shops in the town centre and fine Holy Trinity Parish Church. Close by we discover Charlestown with its historic dockyard used for many film and TV series, later we continue to the village of Mevagissey, whose narrow streets and steep valley sides lead everyone to the harbour at the centre of the village. We return to the hotel for our Traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings and a visit from Santa with treats for everyone, then bingo and live entertainment.
Wednesday After breakfast we travel to Truro, one of the great ‘Stannery towns’, to visit the popular Farmers’ Market, offering a wide range of local goodies which could be a perfect gift to take home. This afternoon there will be a festive film with mince pies and dinner this evening will be followed by live entertainment.
Thursday Our excursion today takes us through some stunning coastal scenery to the art centre of Cornwall, St Ives. The town itself arcs around its harbour and boasts winding cobbled streets offering a wide range of independent shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. This evening our dinner is followed by New Year’s Eve entertainment.
Friday We depart Newquay after a leisurely breakfast for the journey home. Using the motorways we arrive in our home area late afternoon.
