Day 1

Friday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to the beautiful Cotswolds. Arriving at our 4 star hotel, the Marriot Swindon Hotel, we have plenty of time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Saturday This morning we drive north through the Southern Cotswolds by way of Roman Cirencester and Seven Springs, source of the River Thames, to spend time in the floral town of Cheltenham. Our return takes us to Cooper Hill, scene of the annual chees rolling race and beautiful Painswick with its famous Yew trees in the churchyard. We cross Minchinhampton Common with its many legends and descend by the twisting Jacobs Ladder. Our arrival at the hotel allows time to relax before dinner.

Day 3

Sunday A morning drive to the noted Market town of Marlborough then through the mysterious standing stone circle at Avebury before returning to the hotel for an included ‘Mother’s Day’ lunch. The afternoon is at leisure at the hotel. We meet up again for dinner this evening.

Day 4

Monday Another hearty breakfast before we spend time in nearby Swindon at the beautifully restored Grade II railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway works which today houses a massive modern shopping outlet offering huge discounts, lots of cafes and a wonderful Steam Museum of the Great Western Railway, where visitors of all ages get to climb aboard famous locomotives, have a go at changing the signals, and be an engine driver. Mid afternoon we return to our home area and waiting taxis at the end of an enjoyable break.
