Best Western Premier Castle Green Hotel - 4 Star

This 4 star hotel is perched on the edge of the Lake District, set in 14 acres of garden and woodland overlooking Kendal Castle and Lakeland Fells. Facilities include a Hairdryer, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A lift serves most floors and each room has a shower, baths are available on request.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Monday Our door to door service takes us to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive north to arrive at the delightful Castle Green hotel where we have time to settle in before dinner.


Day 2

Tuesday After breakfast we depart for Bowness on Windermere. Bowness is a popular tourist town on the shore of Lake Windermere. Here we spend the day at leisure with take time to visit the World of Beatrix Potter or perhaps take refreshments in one of the towns many tea rooms. It is possible to take a boat around the lake or visit Ambleside at the far end of the lake. We return to the hotel for time at leisure to prepare for dinner this evening.


Day 3

Wednesday This morning we take a 50 minute boat ride on Derwent water before continuing to Grasmere, famous for its gingerbread and of course it was once home to the poet, William Wordsworth. After time for lunch we take the short journey to visit Rydal Mount and Gardens, home to Wordsworth for 37 years. Wordsworth was a keen landscape gardener and the four acre garden remains very much as he designed it. The house contains portraits, personal possessions and first editions of the poets work. We return to the hotel for dinner.


Day 4

Thursday After breakfast we depart for Hawes, home to the Wensleydale Cheese and the Dales Countryside Museum. We enjoy some free time and then travel past the Ribblehead viaduct before returning to the hotel.


Day 5

Friday A fine breakfast before bidding farewell to our hosts as we depart for home. Late afternoon we return to our home area after a memorable break among some of Englandís finest scenery.
