Foxfields Country Hotel - 3 Star

Situated in the heart of the Ribble Valley, the much acclaimed 3 star Foxfields Country Hotel is dedicated to ensuring that guests have a welcoming and relaxed visit to the area. The hotel has comprehensive spa facilities, including a swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and a small gym. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, an en-suite bathroom, TV, a trouser press, a hair dryer and tea and coffee. Although this hotel does not have a lift, some ground floor rooms are available on request.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive north to Lancashire. Making use of the motorways we arrive at the 3 star Foxfields Hotel this afternoon where a welcome tea/coffee and biscuits will be served before dinner.


Day 2

Tuesday Today we are joined by a guide and our first visit is to the village of Foulridge where we join the ĎMarton Emperorí for a cruise along the tranquil Leeds/Liverpool canal. Afterwards we make our way to the excellent Boundary Mill Store near Colne for a lunch break. This afternoon we drive to beautiful Browsholme Hall and gardens laid out in the style of Capability Brown. The Hall was built in 1512 and is the ancestral home of the Parker family to this day, here we enjoy a guided tour.


Day 3

Wednesday Today we have a full day guided tour of Pendle Hill Country, hearing about the infamous witches. Downham was the setting for the 1961 film Whistle Down the Wind and also TVís Born and Bred. We call at Barrowford Visitor Centre before heading over Pendle Hill on our way to Clitheroe for a lunch break. Magnificent Stoneyhurst College building of 1595 has stories of ex pupils J.R Tolkien and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to name but two. The day continues with a drive through the Britain in Bloom village of Chipping and on into the Hodder Valley with a break at the riverside tearooms in Slaidburn before heading back to the hotel for dinner.


Day 4

Thursday After breakfast we begin with a ride along the Ribble Valley to Longridge and north to the City of Lancaster with its historic castle. We have time to explore and get something to eat before enjoying a ride through the beautiful Trough of Bowlandwith delightful scenery and pretty villages as we return to the hotel for our final evening and dinner.


Day 5

Friday After breakfast we retrace our steps as we head for home. We arrive in our home areas this evening to be greeted by our awaiting taxis after a lovely break up north.
