The 3 star Mercure Chester North Woodhey House Hotel is located in a quiet rural setting near Little Sutton, on the Wirral Peninsula. Hotel facilities include an indoor pool, gym and steam room. All bedrooms are well equipped, en-suite and have a television and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday From your front door to the Club Class coach for the drive north to Cheshire. We arrive this afternoon at the hotel where a welcome tea/coffee and biscuits are served before we enjoy dinner.

Day 2

TuesdayWe begin with a visit to Dunham Massey. Dating from 1732, the house has fine collections of furniture, paintings and silver. The gardens are stunning, with a moat and an Orangery. This afternoon we are at Arley Hall and Gardens, amongst the finest in the country, created over 250 years by successive generations. One of Cheshire’s ‘Gardens of Distinction’.

Day 3

Wednesday Our first stop today is Ness Botanic Garden, on the Wirral peninsula. Part of Liverpool University, the gardens offer much to admire with an abundance of flowering plants and shrubs. This afternoon we are off to Chester with free time to explore the unique ‘Rows’ of two-tier shops. Walk the City Walls, take a stroll down to the River Dee and enjoy a short boat trip or just sit and watch the world go by before we return to the hotel.

Day 4

Thursday This morning we make our way south to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, home to the Cholmondeley family since the 12th century. The vast gardens occupy and a romantic setting with stunning views. There are also lakeside and woodland walks. In the afternoon we have our final visit to magnificent Tatton Park, a stunning historic estate set in over 1000 acres of Cheshire Parkland with a classical Mansion, 50 acres of Gardens including Japanese, Walled and Formal Gardens. Later we return to the hotel for our final evening’s dinner.

Day 5

Friday After breakfast we begin our journey home. Arriving this afternoon we a greeted by our awaiting taxis after a delightful holiday.
