Another Fenn Holidays favourite hotel. All of the en-suite bedrooms are well-furnished and equipped with a TV, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel also welcomes you to use their leisure facilities including the swimming pool and sauna. Although this hotel does not have a lift ground floor rooms available.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Thursday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Lancashire arriving at our hotel late afternoon. We have time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

FridayWe make our way to Rawtenstall where we join the East Lancashire Railway and enjoy a ride along the Irwell Valley through the pleasant countryside to Bury. There is time to take a look around and get some lunch before our afternoon visit to the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre. The museum tells the story of this well-known engineer, steeplejack and English eccentric.

Day 3

Saturday Today we travel north to explore the ancient city of Lancaster. Visit the castle and museums to uncover ancient stories, take a stroll to St George’s Quay, wander around the quirky boutiques and independent galleries. After time for lunch we continue north to Carnforth and Leighton Hall, the ancestral home of the renowned Gilow furniture family. We enjoy a tour and the guide will share the history of the Hall with us. We enjoy afternoon tea before returning to the hotel.

Day 4

Sunday A short ride from the hotel bring us to the Chocolate House in Blackburn. We enjoy a chocolate making demonstration, along with refreshments and samples to tantalise your taste buds. In the afternoon we visit historic Samlesbury Hall, a fabulous half-timbered black and white medieval house built in 1325 as a family home. A guided tour brings history to life and tells the tales of intrigue and witchcraft through the centuries. We return to the hotel for our final evening’s dinner.

Day 5

Monday After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts as we make our way home. Arriving later this afternoon we are greeted by our awaiting taxis after a delightful break in Lancashire.
