Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Wakefield where we enjoy a visit to the National Coal Mining Museum. Situated in a rural setting, the museum offers an unusual combination of exciting experiences whilst providing a genuine insight into the hard working lives of miners through the ages. Later we continue to the Hollins Hall Marriott with time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Tuesday After a leisurely full English breakfast we travel to Harewood House, one of the treasured Houses of England. With rolling Capability Brown landscapes, an impressive art collection, renaissance masterpieces, exquisite Thomas Chippendale furniture, famous Robert Adam interiors, combined with 100 acres of award winning Gardens and its renowned lakeside Bird garden, there is plenty to keep the visitor occupied. We continue to the spa town of Harrogate for free time this afternoon before returning to our hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Wednesday After breakfast we head for Keighley where we join the Worth Valley Railway for our steam train journey to Oxenhope. Built to serve the local mill trades in the late 19th century, the railway is just over 4.5 miles long and takes us through Ingrow, Damens, Oakworth and Haworth. Our coach will meet us at Oxenhope to take us to Haworth for time at leisure before heading back to the hotel.

Day 4

Thursday This morning we travel to Skipton and enjoy an hour aboard a canal boat. The canal cruise promises a guided tour that’s fun, whatever the weather with the finest countryside one can get without moving one’s feet. During the cruise we’ll see points of interest and hear fascinating stories of how Leeds and Liverpool canal delivered the lifeblood of the industrial revolution through Yorkshire. Plenty of free time afterwards to explore this lively market town before we return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5

Friday After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and head for home. We arrive in our home areas this afternoon.
