A long established, favourite destination with our clients, Bournemouth is renowned as one of our more stylish resorts. It boasts spectacular coastal views including the secret Chines which were used by smugglers to conceal their booty in days gone by. It is clean, fresh and sophisticated yet remains quite unspoilt in spite of its popularity. We include a visit to the fabulous Sea City Museum with Titanic Exhibition and lovely Mottisfont House & Gardens.
The 3 star Durley Dean Hotel stands on Bournemouth’s West Cliff just a short walk from the cliff top and town centre. Hotel facilities include an indoor swimming pool and gym. All bedrooms are en suite and have television, telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. A lift serves all floors. Hotel entertainment will be provided on two evenings.
Sunday Our door to door service takes us to the Club Class coach, then travelling south to Bournemouth. We arrive this afternoon and have plenty of time to settle in before dinner is served.
Monday A day of leisure for us to get to know Bournemouth. Take a stroll along the shore and enjoy lunch at a seafront pub or explore the delightful gardens and watch the world go by.
Tuesday Leaving the hotel we have an excursion to the Isle of Purbeck and Swanage, passing through historic Corfe Castle. There is time to explore Swanage and maybe take a stroll along the seafront and to have some lunch before we leave.
WednesdayWe have a short drive in to Southampton this morning where we visit Sea City, the recently opened museum telling the tragic story of the Titanic and much more about when the city was home to some 23 steamship companies. The centre piece of the exhibition features a scale model of Titanic showing the intricate layout of the vessel. This afternoon we make for Romsey and beautiful Mottisfont House and Garden. Framed by ancient trees, bubbling brooks and rolling lawns, this lovely old house was an 18th century home with a medieval priory at its heart. Enjoy a stroll around the walled garden and afterwards relax in the Kitchen Café. After a full day we return to Bournemouth and our hotel.
Thursday This morning we make our way to Lyndhurst- ‘Capital’ of the New Forest. From here we enjoy a delightful drive through the picturesque villages including Burley, Godshill and Brook. After a leisurely day we return to Bournemouth in time for perhaps a relaxing drink before our final evening’s dinner.
Friday After breakfast we leave and begin our journey home. Making a stop in the historic city of Sailsbury, with its magnificent Cathedral. After time here we continue our journey arriving in our home areas this afternoon.
