For 2018 we return to the historic walled border town of Chepstow. Sitting on the Welsh border of the River Wye,it is the perfect base from which to explore the regions areas of historical significance and outstanding natural beauty.

With breath-taking views, 400 acres of picturesque parkland and a stunning 14th century manor, the St Pierre Hotel and Country Club is an idyllic retreat, just 3 miles from Chepstow and features the perfect blend of ancient architecture and modern amenities. Hotel facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool and a delightful spa. All rooms have satellite TV, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and tea/coffee making facilities. Although the hotel does not have a lift ground floor rooms are available on request.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class Coach for the drive to Wales. We first travel to Gloucester for free time with its strategic position on the River Severn and close to the Welsh border. The city of Gloucester has a rich historic past stretching back to Roman times. We continue late afternoon to our hotel where we have time to settle in before dinner.


Day 2

Tuesday After a leisurely Welsh breakfast, we depart for a drive along the beautiful Wye Valley to the historic town of Monmouth. We continue from here to Symonds Yat where we enjoy a cruise on the River Wye following which we head for Ross-on-Wye with time for lunch. This afternoon, we return to Chepstow via the scenic route through the Forest of Dean.


Day 3

Wednesday After breakfast we travel to Cardiff where we have the day at leisure before returning to the coach and heading back to the hotel.


Day 4

Thursday Today we depart for the Brecon Beacons and some wonderful mountain scenery. We join the Brecon Mountain Railway for the journey along the Taf Fechan Reservoir to Dol-y- Gaer route. There will be a short stop at Pontsticill to admire the views and then on to Brecon and Abergavenny before returning to our hotel.


Day 5

FridayWe bid farewell to our hosts and head home after an interesting Welsh break.
