Wicklow County, otherwise known as the ‘Garden of Ireland’, is a paradise blessed with beautiful scenery, spectacular coastline, colourful villages, rolling mountains, wooded glens and cascading waterfalls with hidden gems around every corner! We include the fabulous Powerscourt House & Gardens along with magnificent Mount Usher Gardens.

Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Sunday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach then cross country to Wales and the port at Holyhead for the afternoon sailing to Dublin enjoying the comfort of the club lounge. On disembarkation we drive along the coast road south to our holiday hotel arriving well in time for dinner


Day 2

Monday After breakfast we travel through the Wicklow Mountains National Park, one of Ireland’s most untouched regions. Observe its beautiful scenery and perhaps catch a glimpse of the native wildlife, before heading for the spectacular valley of Glendalough. Here we visit the medieval monastic ruins before calling into the picturesque town of Avoca, the filming location for ‘Ballykissangel’. We will enjoy an afternoon stop at Avoca Handweavers, the oldest working mill in Ireland before we return to the hotel for dinner.


Day 3

Tuesday Departing after a leisurely breakfast, we join the coach for the short journey to the wonderful Powerscourt Estate. Powerscourt is one of the world’s great gardens, set against the backdrop of the great Sugarloaf Mountain,it is stunning in every season. From the ornate Italian Gardens, to the formal walks of the Rose and Kitchen Gardens, there are many hidden treasures to explore. With over 200 varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers, this 47 acres has something for everyone. We have plenty of time here to explore and get some lunch before heading back to our hotel mid afternoon with time to relax before dinner.


Day 4

Wednesday More flora & fauna today as we head first to Mount Usher Gardens. Delightful in every aspect, Mount Usher is one of the finest examples of an authentic ‘Robinsonian’ style garden combining a distinguished collection of trees and shrubs with informal floral planting schemes in a sheltered valley setting. There is an ever changing panoply of colours and textures enhanced by wafting scents as one season changes to another. We spend time here before continuing on to spend the afternoon in the county town of Wicklow with its lovely harbour and bustling town. We return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.


Day 5

ThursdayWe return to Dublin for the fast ferry crossing to Holyhead. Using the motorways to cross the country we return to our home area early evening after a colourful break in the Garden of Ireland
