Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Sunday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the cross country drive to Holyhead during which a light breakfast is served. Relax and enjoy the hospitality of the club lounge on the ferry crossing. On arrival in Dublin we begin the journey inland to Mullingar and our overnight hotel, the Bloomfield House.

Day 2

Monday After a full Irish breakfast we begin our relaxing drive across the heart of Ireland. Travelling by way of Longford we make a stop for lunch in the popular town of Carrick on Shannon. This afternoon we continue, beside the shores of Lough Arrow to reach Enniscrone and our holiday hotel arriving with plenty of time to settle in well before dinner.

Day 3

Tuesday After a full Irish breakfast, we depart for Westport. Our first stop is Westport House, one of Ireland’s best loved heritage attractions. There has been a ‘big house’ on this site since the 1500’s when Grace O’Malley, the famous Pirate Queen, built one of her many castles here. The current house – built in 1730 by the same family who own it today – has an abundance of artefacts, artwork and treasures. From here we continue into Westport for a 1 hour entertaining guided tour on the Westport land train before exploring the cheerful, multi coloured shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Our return is by way of Castlebar and the National Museum of Ireland.

Day 4

WednesdayWe travel to nearby Sligo, capital of the Northwest region and one of Ireland’s largest towns. Here we follow in the footsteps of William Butler Yeats, one of Ireland’s most famous literary figures whose family came from Sligo. We can visit The Yeats Room at Sligo County Museum or spend some time exploring the ‘shopping capital of the Northwest’. This afternoon we spend a relaxing time in our chosen resort

Day 5

Thursday Today we discover the magic of County Mayo with a scenic drive to the islands of the Wild Atlantic Way. We travel by way of Loughs Conn and Cullen and along the coast of Clew Bay before crossing the bridge to charming Achill, Ireland’s largest Island. Wild unspoilt landscape surrounds us as we drive to the islands largest town, Keel, where we make a stop for lunch. In the afternoon we return via Foxford Woollen Mills where we enjoy a self-guided tour through the visitor centre that recounts the amazing story of the woollen industry that saved the town during the famous famine times.

Day 6

Friday Leaving the West Coast we head for Dublin via Longford. Reaching the capital at lunchtime we enjoy a short city tour followed by leisure time before checking into our overnight hotel, the Esplanade in Bray on the outskirts of Dublin, well in time for dinner.

Day 7

Saturday This morning we head back to Dublin to board the Irish Ferries ship for the sailing back to Holyhead. On board we enjoy a leisurely breakfast during the sea crossing. On arrival in Holyhead we travel back through Wales and back to our home area, arriving later afternoon.
