The Tyrol is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful landers of Austria, renowned for its majestic mountain peaks, picturesque valleys and lush green meadows, along with picture postcard villages. Our tour is based in the charming little village of Kirchberg, an ideal location, well positioned in the heart of the Kitzbüheler Alps. We include visits to the ‘Eagles Nest’, the mighty Grossglockner and a cable car ride to the Zillertal Alps.

Hotel Zentral - 4 Star

The family run 4 star Zentral is located in the centre of Kirchberg as its name suggests; built in the traditional chalet style the hotel is renowned for its warm welcome and comfort. Each of the en-suite bedrooms is equipped with a telephone, satellite TV, a safety-box and a hair dryer. Most rooms have a balcony and many have views of the surrounding mountains. Other facilities at the hotel include a sun terrace, restaurant, bar, games room and a comprehensive wellness area. The hotel is served by two lifts. We include an ‘All Inclusive’ drinks package and daily take away packed lunch or light lunch in the hotel.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Saturday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Folkestone during which a light breakfast is served. Boarding the mid-morning train a glass of champagne and snacks set the holiday mood. On through Belgium to Germany and our overnight hotel.


Day 2

Sunday A fine buffet breakfast before departing for Austria. Travelling through Germany we cross the Rhine at Karlsruhe and pass Stuttgart and Munich. Ahead we see the Alps and after crossing the border near the Wild Kaiser Mountains we reach Kirchberg and our holiday hotel at teatime


Day 3

Monday A restful day in our resort, make use of the hotels excellent leisure facilities and partake of the inclusive drinks arrangements or enjoy a ride on the nearby cable car.


Day 4

Tuesday A circular day tour of natural wonder that takes us first to the Pinzgau and Europe’s highest waterfall at Krimml. Water cascades over 3 stages and falls more than1200ft. We cross the scenic Gerlos Pass to another great valley, the Zillertal, to spend time in Mayrhofen, a popular year round resort sitting at the entrance to 5 glacial valleys. We include a ride on the Penken cable car for stunning views of the village and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Our tour is completed by driving along the Inn Valley to Worgl and back to Kirchberg


Day 5

Wednesday The scenic highlight of our tour as we take the spectacular Grossglockner road. This magnificently engineered highway runs from nearby Bruck to Heiligenblut and offers us views over mountain peaks and glaciers, a truly memorable journey, climbing to a height of over 8,000 feet we reach the base of Austria’s highest mountain – the Grossglockner at 12,460ft.


Day 6

Thursday Another full day excursion as we visit neighbouring Germany and the beautifully situated town of Berchesgarten. Here we make use of the local Post Bus to take us along a scenic twisting road to the ‘Eagles Nest’, Hitler’s mountain retreat perched at the top of a 6000ft mountain. The last part of the ascent is via an impressive lift built inside the rock. Today it is a historical monument maintained by the Bavarian state. We also include a visit to beautiful Konigsee, a glacial lake nestling at the foot of towering mountains.


Day 7

Friday A morning visit to the world famous resort of Kitzbuhl. This picturesque old world town, nestling between the Kitzbuhler Horn and the Hahnenkamm, has a delightful pedestrianised centre with a wealth of cafes and interesting shops, perfect for last minute souvenirs. We return to the hotel for an included lunch and relaxing afternoon.


Day 8

SaturdayWe leave Kirchberg for our home ward journey. Through Bavaria possibly making a stop in the fairytale town of Rothenburg, built on the banks of the River Tauber. Then by way of the wine producing city of Wurzburg to reach our overnight hotel in the Rhineland.


Day 9

Sunday After a fine buffet breakfast we depart for Brussels then Calais for the mid-afternoon shuttle to Folkestone. We return to our home area and waiting taxis arriving early evening.
