Overview

Looe, once a busy fishing community the town is divided into West & East Looe by its river. This picturesque resort has a variety of little shops, a busy harbour which is well worth visiting to watch the remaining fishing boats coming in to unload their catches. There is entertainment at the hotel following the ‘Cornish Christmas Cracker’ theme.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Saturday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to the southwest and Cornwall. We reach our hotel, the 3 star Portbyhan Hotel, where a festive cream tea is waiting for us. We then have time to settle in and relax before dinner is served.

Day 2

Sunday After a leisurely breakfast we journey over Bodmin Moor to the legendary Jamaica Inn then by Wadebridge to the delightful harbour town of Padstow on Cornwall’s stern north coast. After time to explore we return back to the hotel.

Day 3

Monday This morning is spent at leisure in our charming resort. This afternoon we take a short ride to the village of Polperro. Like most Cornish villages, Polperro has a history of smuggling although its legal trade is fishing! Known as one of the most popular places in Cornwall, Polperro is undoubtedly one of the prettiest. This evening we enjoy a bucks fizz reception followed by Christmas dinner and a visit from Santa.

Day 4

Tuesday A leisurely breakfast before we drive to the Georgian village & harbour of Charlestown, the setting for the TV programmes Poldark and The Onedin Line. Next we visit the incredible Eden Project, a global garden spread over 25 acres, all under the cover of two enormous domes, the largest of their type in the world. We return to the hotel late afternoon with time to relax before dinner.

Day 5

Wednesday Time to head for home. Departing after breakfast we retrace the route of our outward journey to arrive back in our home area late afternoon after an enjoyable West Country break.
