This tour takes us into the Heart of Scotland and the North West Highlands where we view spectacular mountain scenery and lonely lochs and of course a whisky distillery visit and tasting, on interesting and relaxing excursions during the day then return to the hotel each evening to enjoy live entertainment which is bound to set the Scottish mood!
The 3 star Best Western Crianlarich Hotel stands in the village of the same name on the fringe of the beautiful Breadalbane region of Perthshire. Relax in the lounges with a drink from the well stocked bar after your day out. All bedrooms are en suite and have television, central heating and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift and provides entertainment on 2 nights of our stay.
Monday An early departure from your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the journey north through the York Dales to enter Scotland at Gretna. On past the city of Glasgow and along the shore of Loch Lomond to Crianlarich, arriving late afternoon at the Crianlarich Hotel. Entertainment will follow dinner this evening.
Tuesday This morning we drive to Fort William where there is plenty of time to explore and marvel in the beautiful surroundings of the town, maybe visiting one of the cafes or tearooms for lunch. We also include a Distillery visit then after time to look around we make our way to the Ballachulish Visitor Centre where we can stretch our legs and perhaps pick up a souvenir. After time here we return to the hotel travelling by way of rugged Glen Coe and lonely Rannoch Moor arriving at the hotel with time to relax before dinner. Dinner is followed by entertainment for your enjoyment.
Wednesday Our day takes us through the National Park, past Lochs, forests and mountains until we reach Stirling. We have free time in Stirling to enjoy the city or perhaps visit Stirling Castle with its picturesque views or simply relax in a tearoom. This afternoon we head to Balloch at the very southern tip of Loch Lomond where we visit the ‘Loch Lomond Shores’ outlet with free time for some retail therapy before our return to the hotel. Entertainment follows dinner.
Thursday We head through the Scottish countryside following the River Awe for a time as a wind way to the West-coast of Scotland where we visit Oban. There are a huge variety of independent stores as well as the Oban Distillery and St Columba’s Cathedral which both could be worth a visit. After the day in Oban we make our way back through the Scottish Hills to reach our hotel. We have time to relax before dinner and our evening entertainment.
FridayWe depart the hotel this morning and make our way south to spend time in Gretna Green, then over the border to England. Travelling south we arrive in our home areas after an enjoyable Scottish break.
